invites for negotiations related to selection of the investor or investors for the project entitled „Erection of methanol plant and/or production of electric power
from coke oven gas at Koksownia Przyjaźń Sp. z o.o.”

Koksownia Przyjaźń Sp. z o.o., hereinafter referred to as the Company, is searching for investors for co-financing of the investment project entitled “Erection of methanol plant and/or production of electric power from coke oven gas at Koksownia Przyjaźń Sp. z o.o.”. The Project aims to diversification of the ways of utilization of the own coke oven gas produced in the coking process, portion of which could be used for production of methanol and/or electric power. The Company has access to relevant, commercially proven, technologies for production of methanol and electric power from coke oven gas. It has also available developed area for execution of this project as well as heavy current and media infrastructure, which after upgrading could meet the needs of the project. Moreover, the Company is able to assign for the needs of the project the raw material in form of coke oven gas, after preliminary treatment in facilities of By-Product Plant, in quantity of 30-40,000 Nm³/h, to cover demand of a plant with production capacity of 150,000 tpa methanol and/or production of electric power at the level of 65 MW_e.

Estimated capital expenditures for the projects under consideration amount to PLN 160-260m, depending on the adopted version of project execution. 

The invitation is addressed to interested legal and physical persons – entrepreneurs in understanding of Polish regulations.

 Formula of the undertaking, e.g. founding a special purpose entity for the project, participation in profits, supply of coke oven gas and utilities by the coking plant, etc., is to be agreed upon with the potential investors.

The Company invites entities interested in participation in execution of the project do address the letter of intent to the address of its registered office by 30 June 2009, with annotation on the envelope „Letter of Intent – Erection of methanol plant and/or production of electric power from coke oven gas at Koksownia Przyjaźń Sp. z o.o.”

 All entities who shall submit their letter of intent within the required time, shall be taken into consideration by the Management Board of Koksownia Przyjaźń Sp. z o.o. Selection of investor or investors shall take place by way of discussions and negotiations with the individual participants of the proceeding. The precondition for taking part in the negotiation shall be entering into a confidentiality agreement.
